About Us
Chinese Academy of Cleveland
Established in 1973, the Chinese Academy of Cleveland (CAoC) is one of the oldest Chinese heritage schools in the Greater Cleveland area. As a non-profit organization, CAoC is guided by a dedicated board of directors and an administrative team, including the Principal, Assistant Dean, and Treasurer. Our core mission is to promote Chinese culture and empower the next generation with Mandarin language skills.
Currently hosted at Shaker Heights Middle School, CAoC welcomes over 100 students each year across two tailored learning tracks. We also offer CSL (Chinese as a Second Language) courses for adults, along with vibrant cultural classes such as Chinese calligraphy. To ensure personalized attention and interactive learning, we keep our class sizes small, with only 5 to 10 students per class.
Our comprehensive curriculum incorporates both Bopomofo (Zhuyin) and Pinyin systems, giving students the flexibility to learn either Traditional or Simplified characters. Regular Mandarin classes take place every Saturday morning from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, supplemented by specialized cultural modules throughout the year. We strive to foster a joyful learning environment where students can build confidence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing—laying a solid and lasting foundation in Mandarin.

克里夫蘭中文學校（CAoC）創立於 1973 年，是大克里夫蘭地區歷史最悠久的中文學校。作為一個非營利組織，本校由 5 位以上理事組成的理事會及行政團隊（包含校長、教務與財務等）共同營運。我們的宗旨是弘揚中華文化，並致力於為下一代提供優質的中文教育。
